Telus condos are next homebuying opportunity at Gray’s Station

As Des Moines continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in the Midwest, boasting a 40% growth in the last decade, the Gray’s Station neighborhood is welcoming a new kind of homebuying opportunity with Telus, a condominium community.

With construction slated to start in the latter half of 2023, Telus will be a three-story community featuring 84 one and two-bedroom condos. This community will be located near the existing LINC townhomes on the corner of Tuttle and SW 12th Streets. Telus will be a seamless addition to the neighborhood, with a modern exterior and a great cycle track running along the northern portion, connecting to the 1,500 miles of surrounding bike trails in Central Iowa.

Inside of each home, Gray’s designers have customized high-end finishes, including solid stone countertops and huge windows letting in natural light, open concept living space, complete with an oversized island. Depending on the floorplan you choose, finishes and designs will vary within the given layout. Homes located on the first floor will enjoy a great walk-up entry and patio space. All second and third-floor homes will have their own private patio off of the main living area, just one of the ways Telus provides outdoor space downtown to each homeowner. The bathrooms are fitted with double vanities and beautiful marble tile, making the bath/shower an oasis in the home. Homeowners will also have access to the detached covered garages and the dog park located in the center of this community. As part of the Gray’s overall plan, the expanded paseo with green space continues to connect the community to the rest of the neighborhood – completed and future phases.

The community itself was inspired by the popular Edison Condos, the first condos added to the Des Moines skyline since 2008, along SW 7th Street. With numerous condo opportunities throughout Greater Des Moines, Telus provides an unparalleled location and connectivity to the downtown core as well as Gray’s Lake and the 1,500-acre Water Works Park. Thanks to the Coleman Bridge connection, Telus is half a mile from Lauridsen Amphitheater, Killinger Family Stage and the newly opened, and popular, Des Moines Biergarten. To the north, Telus is again just a three-block walk to the famous Pappajohn Sculpture Park which hosts festivals such as 80/35, Italian Heritage Festival and the Des Moines Arts Festival as well as major downtown employers like EMC, Wells Fargo and Nationwide.

In the near future, two blocks to the west, Telus will also boast easy access to the USL ProIowa soccer stadium, set to be open in 2025. This stadium will be a soccer specific home to the professional soccer team that will be calling Des Moines its hometown. A global plaza, including restaurants, retail and office space are also planned for the area surrounding the stadium.

Gray’s Station, one of downtown Des Moines’ urban neighborhoods, is a unique combination of retail, townhomes, rental communities, and upcoming single-family homes. Gray’s is home to numerous, proud local business owners such as Mad Meatball, Iowa Spine + Performance and Tipsy Nails. The 75-acre community continues to expand, adding living and exploring options to downtown Des Moines with numerous future phases planned through 2030.
